Sonihull Ultrasonic Antifouling Protection System

Once an object is immersed in water (sweet/salt) immediately a thin layer on the liquid side is formed, the bio film. This layer consists of arganic molecules and micro organisms and are the breeding ground for traces of algae, barnacles, clams and other marine growth. The resulting growth has a detrimental effect on the speed of a vessel and so on the fuel consumption. It also obstructs the flow in pipes and the heat exchange in coolers. A sailing- or motor vessel with 20% marine growth on it’s hull easily develops 50% drag/resistance in the water. On larger hips the groth also develops in sea chests, strainers, heat exchangers and raw water piping. On the hull growth is slowed down by applying antifoul paints. In sea chests, heat exchangers and raw water piping this can not be used. The Sonihull Ultrasonic Antifouling system provides a solution to combat these issues.

The 2nd generation  Sonihull Ultrasonic Antifouling System has undergone some significant improvements.

Monitor output

The system is equipped with a fixed monitoring output on the controlbox whereby the system seamlessly incorporates in a central monitoring/alarm system e.g. by means of Empibus™

Individual signaling

On the controlbox each transducer is monitored by an individual signal light for actual functioning and status.
